A Wonderful Morning in Bandung

They called Bandung as Paris van Java

I love Bandung very much

I spent almost five years during my university years in Bandung

Nowadays, Bandung is different

But still, I left my heart in Bandung

My last visit to Bandung was so unforgettable

We went to Masjid Raya in the central of Bandung

It's a big mosque with green plastics carpets at the front

So everybody can played soccer there

The mosque also located near the historical building of Gedung Merdeka

Where the first Asian African Conference were held in 1955

And this year, they celebrated the 60 years of this conference

And I was very excited to visit this historical place

I took some awesome pictures

And I never think this visit would turned out to be wonderful.

Train Trip to Cirebon

It's my second Train Trip to Cirebon and I never get boring of it.

I love the morning feeling to catch the train

And the ticket purchased was very simple nowadays.

I really enjoyed the train trip especially when accompanied by my two besties.

It's like Bali Reunion

The itinerary almost similar with my last trip.

First stop should be nasi jamblang, but today we chose Nasi Jamblang Bu Nur instead of Mang Dul

People usually has nasi jamblang for breakfast

The special thing about this meal is small portion of rice was wrapped by dried teak leaves 

And it made the rice smells good

And it had range of side dishes to accompany the rice

After full enough, we went straight to Trusmi for batik hunting

The Cirebon Famous Batik Pattern is called Mega Mendung

And we emptied our wallet only in three shops

Girls and shopping ? Not weird, huh?

After that Empal Gentong Amarta for lunch

We thought we were full after nasi jamblang for breakfast

But after one empal asem for three of us, we decide that we're not so full anymore

And nothing can stop us for ordered each three menus for take away

On our way back to the city, we stopped by at Toko Manisan Shinta

Cirebon has known by its jambal roti/salted fish and cheese ranginang.

Ranginang is crackers made by dried rice

And this shop are famous with wide variety of crackers

Before we're heading back to Jakarta we tried our luck to taste the Famous Bubur Sop Mang Kapi

Lucky us it's opened already

Bubur sop is like chicken porridge with soup that taste like soto 

Since of our delayed train which we blessed 

We also can spend quality time at Starbucks at Railway Station

It's only One Day, But It's Fun, Depends on who you travel with

Suddenly Miss Jogjakarta (part 3)

I saw pictures of some of my friends went to Jogjakarta this weekend.

Those pictures made me miss Jogjakarta.

I miss the "angkringan" or street food which I can find in every corner of this city.

One of this angkringan sells Kopi Joss.

I never heard about Kopi Joss  until I went to Jogjakarta last year. 

It's a hot black coffee served with hot charcoal in it. And it doesn't taste weird  at all. 

It's like coffee. They believe that charcoal can lower the caffeine in coffee. 

And it's just became a unique experience and I drank the coffee twice during my stay. 

This coffee usually at the stall nearby the train station.

They also sell food and noodle and small portion of white rice called nasi kucing with side dishes different kind of satay, such as: chicken liver, chicken intestine and other chicken organs 

and it taste unbelievably delicious.

Another meal for supper is Gudeg Mercon. The famous gudeg mercon is Gudeg Mercon Bu Tinah at Jalan Asem Gede Kranggan. The location is really close to Gudeg Bu Djuminten store.

First time we're looking for this place we thought the place had closed because it's too late.

But when we came back later, it's  already open. 

The gudeg is different cause it's more spicy then other gudeg that's why they called it gudeg mercon.

And it's so delicious because I'm a spicy food lover.

Another stop at night is Bakmi Harjo Geno just in front of Pasar Prawirotaman.

The place was very small,  so usually it has to be a long que to be served.

However lucky us, since we had this place for ourself.

I tried the nyemek style, it's the cooking method like stir and fry, so the noodle is not too dry.

Or you can try the magelangan, that's the combination between fried noodle and fried rice.

Hmmm.....writing this post certainly make me hungry.

I think I'm gonna cook some instant noodle for my dinner.

My First Cooking Class

Hello, May.

Long time not writing in this blog.

If you asked me why? Mostly because I was focusing on finishing my book.

So I spent my weekend only working on it.

This Tuesday, I joined a training from office.

since the very first time I got notification about this training, I'm very excited.

Lucky me that my boss let me joined.

It's called "Coffee Culture" and my favourite person will be there too as a coach.

Rene Suhardono as a founder of Impact Factory. He's really cool.

The training took place at Almond Zucchini, cute, hah?

It's like home, with a big kitchen (I really had weird feeling about this kitchen.

The atmosphere was very easy. We just sat on the rug with pillows all over the floor.

And there's a big coffee machine that was operated by one guy, i knew later that his name was Hendry and he's a coffee consultant.

So the training was delivered by fun and famous coaches from Impact Factory.

I learned about the circle of creativity, mindfullness, work with passion, how we can create our own story by doing something meaningful in life and coffee culture.

The coffee culture session that made this training was extraordinary.

Because we learned a lot about coffee. 

I love coffee and I almost drink coffee everyday. 

Since Starbucks also my favourite escape from my works.

I learned something new, that good coffee surely has to be acid, that in Bali the coffee is planted yamong the citrus plants so the taste is more acid. That Indonesia is one of the best coffee producer.

There is one Indonesia's varian coffee that's being exported to other countries and not being consumed by Indonesian people.

I learned why we supposed not to drink coffee sachet since we didn't know exactly whether it's pure coffee or mixed with corn. And we supposed not add sugar in coffee because coffee will give the sweet taste itself. And that makes me want to learn more about coffee.

Another experience was that we had to cook our lunch. We divided into three groups and we had to 

cook Bali Food: Ayam Pelalah, Sate Lilit, Urap sayur and sambal matah in only one hour. 

I never thought that I can cook in that limited time. But it was fun, and how we handle the situation is almost similar with how we handle our work at the office.

So, I'm thinking about writing my story. And it should have a happy ending.

Jejamuran and Ruminten

What is Jejamuran?

Jejamuran is a restaurant located outskirt of Jogjakarta 

on our way to candy Borobudur Magelang

Jamur is mushroom in English.

All food here is made of mushroom.

All traditional Indonesian food like Satay, rendang, spicy stir and fry mushroom, crispy portabello, 

and many other dishes those made from mushroom.

The place is clean and the dishes are delicious

Next destination was House of Ruminten

It's a famous restaurant in Jogjakarta. It's in three location: Magelang, Kali Urang and Kota Baru. 

We went to the restaurant that located at Kali Urang.

The atmosphere was very unique, it's always full house cause it has a reasonable price and open 24 hours everyday. Since we just ate at Jejamuran, we only ordered drink here.

 I forgot what we ordered here, but all the food were in unique name.
