A Baker in The Corner

Eid Mubarak!

We're celebrating Idul Fitri after our one fasting month.
Alhamdulillah.
My in laws are here and we visited them at the hotel where they stay.
This year, they stay at Hotel Mercure at Ancol Beach.
In our way to the hotel, we stopped by at this bakery which located at jalan Hayam Wuruk.
It's called " Suisse" I guess it's from the word "Switzerland" as a state. I can see the mountains picture on their box :)

I knew this bakery when I worked at Jalan Hayam Wuruk.
I love this shop, cause it has an old style bread and different with Taiwan style bakery that dominating Jakarta nowadays.
And it's only has one shop.
Once i entered the shop, I can smell the fresh bake breads those just came from the ovens.
It's packed with people who shop, but the waiters are very helpful.
However the interior is different as I have remembered last time I'm here.
It's clean and a little bit modern.
But the smell of breads were still the same.
My favourite bread are fried bread that pin with satay stick and  covered with sugar and meat bread.
It has a reasonable price cause the bread is real not empty and It will make you full.

Cheers, didi

My Sweet Escape

We found this cool place by chance. And I can tell you that it will be my favourite place. This little coffee shop is called "Roast Woods". It's hiding in the corner of street. I fell in love with this place. Once we entered the coffee shop it fell so peaceful. And it's even better when I saw the amazing owl mural on the wall. It's soooooo big and I love it.

There were only few tables and chairs in that room and we chose the sofa in the corner. It felt like home. There were owl cushions over the sofa and the owl figure on the table. I asked the waiter about the owl theme and it refers to beer from Japan that has owl label.

Food was good but not much so this place only okay for hang out not for serious dine. The food were in premium price compare to the size. But the milk tea was good so i decided that it would be our sweet escape.

Viewing Bandung From The Bus

Marhaban ya Ramadhan.

While waiting for time to have fasting break, I registered for this Bandung tour on a bus.
It's like city tour in Bandung like what you have in Europe.
Since the space was very limited, because it's only had one bus in limited time 3 PM and 4 PM.
The tour would take an hour, so we had to register first via BBM and made a transfer payment via ATM. It cost only Rp. 25,000,-/person.

Lucky me, I got the last seats for 4 of us, my mom and my sons. Can't hardly wait :)
I felt like a kid who will go for a picnic. And finally the time had arrived.
We had to gather at Cibeunying Park half an hour before the arrive time. FYI Bandung nowadays has some beautiful parks where the people can hang around casually. Maybe next trip to Bandung I will visit those parks.Wish there were parks during my college years here. But it's okay, now my kids can enjoy the parks.

The bus was called BANDROS (Bandung Tour On the Bus). Maybe the name is taken from name of local snack from Bandung that made from rice flour and it's really delicious called bandros. Smart and unique name. When the bus came from it's previous tour, I a little bit disappointed, because is not as big as city tour bus in Europe, it's like a small version of it. The officer called our name one by one, and I felt a little bit worry that we didn't get the seat upstairs of a better view. And I didn't have to worry at all, since for those who had registered, all of us can sit upstairs.

The trip was fun, including how we had to avoid the branches of the tree and all the obstacle over our head. But it's Indonesia, a messy but beautiful country. The tour took an hour. The route was from Taman Cibeunying, Jalan Surapati, Gedung Sate, Dago, Jalan Merdeka, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Braga, and back to Taman Cibeunying. The tour guide gave us all the information about Bandung, those I've never heard before. And I really enjoyed it.

Never say you had visited Bandung when you have not try this cool city tour...
