Park Hopping in Bandung

This post is actually an old post, it's saved as a draft in my blog for two years. However I'll continue to publish it anyway since I had a best moment while doing this park hopping in Bandung. It reminds me of the memories of park hopping in London during my newly wed period. I don't know what the reason but I have this weird addiction to park and zoo. I can tell you this as my weakness.
It's really refreshing moments to do this park hopping in Bandung. I know that there are some parks too here in Jakarta but this city is too packed and the air is not as fresh as the air in Bandung.

So here we go 2 adults and five kids in a car. We're so ready to experience this.

Our first stop is Taman Balai Kota at Jalan Merdeka or we may say it's located in Jalan Wastukencana? It's a big park and it has love lock gate. It's not actually like the love locks bridge in Paris, it's only a single gate with love sign and locks decorated with locks all over. Awesome. I love the idea, anyway. This park has so many big trees that I love to take picture under. Then just across the street, there is Taman Vanda just in front of the Bank Indonesia building. The location was used to be a movie theatre. The name Vanda was originated from one kind of orchid flower. If you're lucky, you can take a beautiful picture with Bank Indonesia and Sant Petrous Cathedral on the background. I've been told to visit this park at night, cause they this beautiful water fountain attraction only at night. Maybe I'll tried it some other time.

Then we continue our journey to Taman Musik Centrum at Jalan Belitung. The park has art constellation in form of musical instruments. Bandung music community is also use this park as a meeting point for practising. The centrum building just across the street is a historic swimming pool built in 1920 by Netherland architect CP Wolff Shoemaker  who also built Preanger Hotel at that time. Too bad the swimming pool now is change to be a restaurant and wedding hall.

Another park we visited was Superhero Park at Jalan Bengawan. We have to come to this park early in the morning, because this park is always packed with visitors. It has several superheroes statue such as Superman and Spiderman those kids love to see and take a picture with.

Finally it's time to go home. On our way back home, we stopped by at Pet Park at Cibeunying. This park is dedicated for pet lover and pet community to hang out along with their pets. On our way back, we saw this Taman Panatayuda. We just too curious to not stopping by. It's beautiful park with swing and slides that kids love to play. It's located at Jalan Panatayuda near Dipati Ukur. Panatayuda is name one of king of Padjadjaran Kingdom. Kids were enjoying the playground while I was enjoying taking selfies :)

That's all. I love Bandung very much. As I always write, Bandung is like a first love, it's not easy to forget.

Six parks in a day?? What an achievement.
Can't wait to have another park strolling maybe in another city.

Cheers, Dhidie

It's Good To Be Back

Finally I'm back..
After 2 years of hiding and finally finished my first novel.
Yeah, my first novel. And I'm very proud of it.
At first I was just about to make it simple. I only think about writing, that's all.
After rejections from two major publishers. I spent my time to learn how to make a good story.
From Pinterest..hahaha.. Yes, from pinterest. For me, pinterest is a new google.
I joined some writing classes, and I got the point here and there.
So I chose to publish my book via an online independent publisher.
With the great support from my four best friends, finally the first copies of Love's Labyrinth was released on December 2015. I celebrated with some of my good friends at the restaurant nearby.
It's really an unforgettable moment.
Then when the book was got more attention from my friends, then came an idea to make an independent publisher. Then " Green Marshmallow Publisher" was born.
The name "Green Marshmallow"  was after my first blog.
So we're worked on my re-born Love's Labyrinth very hard.
I was doing my writing cause I planned to add some chapters in the book. It's not easy to write under pressure cause we had a very limited time, that we wanted to make it before our holy journey.
Then in October 2016, Alhamdulillah the Love's Labyrinth with extra Gentlemen's Stories was released. Right after we're coming back from our pilgrim.

That's the story..
So what I'm trying to say here is never give up on something.
Follow your passion.
Don't stay in your comfort zone or you'll end up the same in another ten years.

Cheers, dhidie
